WHAT ARE THE HEALTH BENEFITS OF CINNAMON?



Health benefits of Cinnamon include reduction of blood sugar in diabetes and a possible reduction of inflammation and action against free radicals and bacteria.  research remains mixed, but the absence of harmful side effects means trying Cinnamon for those benefits do not carry any risk per WebMD.

Cassia Cinnamon is the type with links to lowering blood sugar in diabetes ; however research regarding benefits is mixed.  Because of the lack of definitive proof, the dosage has not yet been established for cinnamon.  Some studies recommend 1/2 to 1 teaspoon per day, while others say or have used between 1 and 6 grams.  Extreme high doses may be proved toxic, according to the  WedMD.

Cinnamon is an added ingredient in many foods.  Cinnamon purchased off the shelf in your spice aisle is generally Ceylon cinnamon or Cassia Cinnamon.  Cassia Cinnamon has a darker color than the Ceylon variety, according to WebMD.

In general Cinnamon has no side effects unless the consumer has an allergy.  Heavy use can irritate your lips and mouth, people with liver conditions can experience toxic results from extreme high doses.  Coumarin, a component of some cinnamon products, may lead to liver conditions.
Due to the indefinite research regarding cinnamons health benefits and some of it's risks, pregnant or breast feeding women should not take cinnamon as a medical supplement although it remains safe in food, by WebMD.

IS CHAI TEA GOOD FOR YOU?


Chai tea made in the traditional way is with black tea and spices and has all the nutritional benefits of black tea and is very healthy, plus some are also made with Oolong teas with the added spices.
According to WebMD, black tea has powerful antioxidants called polyphenols, these antioxidants can lower your risk of certain cancers.  Remember to always check with your physician and drinking large amounts of chai or any one thing is not recommended.  Too much of anything isn't good for your.

Many of the spices in Chai tea are nutritional powerhouses.  Many health magazines list Cinnamon, Cloves and ginger as some of the very most powerful sources of immune-boosting antioxidants.  Not all Chai teas are creative equal, check the label and make sure your chai tea includes health-boosting black tea and spices and not high amounts of sugars and artificial flavors and preservatives.

What is Chai Tea?



Chai Tea generally a drink made from black tea, milk, spices and sweetener. Other parts of the  world, "Chai" is a generic term for tea while "masala chai" refers to the spiced tea drink.

The spicy milky tea drink known as Chai in North America is popular in India and is served as a soothing drink that aids in digestion.  Chai tea has been around for centuries in other parts of the world. The spices used may vary from region to region.  The common ingredients to chai tea include ginger, clover,cardamon,cinnamon and pepper, plus many chai drinkers will add vanilla to their chai tea.

Milk or cream is an ingredient that distinguishes chai from other teas.   Many coffee shoppe's  or cafe's will serve chai tea lattes with heated or steamed milk or cream. Others will serve there chai tea's chilled and on ice and as a iced chai latte.  Chai tea also comes in a concentrate that you mix with milk, another option is to buy pre-made Masala chai spice mix which is often available at  Indian markets.

HIBISCUS TEA BENEFITS

The benefits of hibiscus tea include lowering blood pressure, regulating cholesterol levels for people with diabetes with antioxidants effects.  More study's need to be done but hibiscus tea may also be effective in treating other health issues such as constipation, colds, stomach irruption, loss of appetite, fluid retention and even nerve disease.

  Some reachers believe hibiscus tea can decrease spasm in the gastrointestinal track and uterus and kill bacteria and worms, plus also good in helping with heart conditions.  Due to the lack of research it is recommended to consult with your physician before starting a strong hibiscus regiment for your ailments. Hibiscus is rich in copper, iron and manganese and should be drank in moderation.

Pregnant women should avoid hibiscus, for it has the potential to start menstruation and can cause miscarriage, plus drinking hibiscus tea while breast feeding is unknown, so consult your physician before using, is recommended first.

Hibiscus is a bushy annual plant that is thought to be a native of Africa.  Besides making tea, parts of the flower are used to make Karkade, an Egypt favorite and other parts can be used in jams, sauces, soup and spices

Hot Chocolate sounds good

Hot Chocolate

made with and Oolong and Herbal.


1/4 cup  Teavana S'mores Oolong Tea
1/8 cup  Cocoa Carmel Sea Salt Herbal tea
1/16 cup  Honey Bush Vanilla (Optional)
Belgian Rock Sugar (to taste if you choose too)
Small Marshmallows (optional)
Perfect Tea Maker

-Add your Rock Sugar to taste in your Perfect Tea Maker (Honey can be substituted for the rock sugar)
-Hot water at 190 degrees, stir to resolve the sugar.
-Put in your 1/8 Cup Cocoa Carmel Sea Salt and the 1/4 Cup S'mores Oolong and the 1/16 cup of Honey Bush Vanilla.
-Let steep for 3 to 5 minutes, when ready place the perfect tea maker over your cup to dispense your tea into your favorite mug for drinking Hot Chocolate.
- Now for that special taste add some marshmallows and sit back and enjoy your fantastic drink that no one would think is tea. This drink taste just like a cup of Hot Chocolate and will warm you up on that cold morning after shoving the nights snow fall.

A variation is I ran out of Cocoa Carmel Sea Salt so I substituted White Chocolate Peppermint Teavana Tea and it was also to die for.
Don't be afraid to experiment with mixing teas you may come up with your own new recipe.
